Verify a download
Every file has a SHA-256 checksum under its download button, and all of them are listed in SHA256SUMS.txt. On macOS or Linux run shasum -a 256 <file>; on Windows run certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256, and compare.

Questions
- Is the desktop app free?
- Yes. It is included with every JackHamr account and uses the same credits as the web dashboard.
- Which Linux package should I pick?
- Use the native package for your distribution when one is listed: it registers the app menu entry and the sign-in link handler for you. The AppImage runs anywhere but you may need to register the jackhamr:// link handler yourself for browser sign-in to hand back to the app.
- Windows says the publisher is unknown.
- The Windows installer is not yet code-signed, so SmartScreen may show a warning the first time. Choose "More info", then "Run anyway". Verify the download with the SHA-256 checksum below if you want to be sure.
- Does it work offline?
- No. The app is a native shell around the JackHamr dashboard and needs a connection to reach your agents.
- How do I get updates?
- macOS, Windows, and AppImage builds update themselves and show a banner when a restart is needed. Apps installed from .deb, .rpm, or pacman packages notify you and link back to this page. Check for Updates in the app menu runs a check on demand.
